ABOUT US

I am originally from Philadelphia, PA. I now live in Frederica, Delaware in a small rural town. My rich musical heritage comes from my mother. I grew up in a house filled with music. I was influenced by classical, jazz, and gospel music at the age of twelve and I gave my first concert at the age of fourteen. I also sing in the genres of jazz and gospel because I listened and appreciated all of the music forms that were presented to me in my home.

I have been singing professionally for more than thirty years. When opportunity presented itself, in between my teaching in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; marriage and raising my two daughters. I was able to travel and sing with stage choirs in the U.S. and abroad. This included my singing my singing with a stage choir that backed Michael Bolton several years ago.

The combination of my love of music, my years of singing and performing and my research of American Arts in regards to music has led me to the discovery of how much women have played a part in the growth and development of American music on the stage, in concert halls, and in films.

In 2004, I produced and directed my first musical stage production, "Songs Our People Sung". This production had a cast of twenty performers. The theme of this production was how work songs from the Deep South evolved to develop the blues, jazz, and gospel. From this came R&B, Rock and Rolland even Hip Hop today.

I am producing a one women show called "Here's to the Ladies". This is a tribute to some of the women who have sung on the American Stage singing Jazz, Gospel and Broadway classics.
